Don't tase me, girl

I talked to TASER about Tasers, women, and targets:
The pink C2 was released in 2007. “Women may not want to look tactical in all black,” Tuttle reports, and with the pink model, “If it falls out of her purse, no one’s going to think, ‘Oh my god, what’s that?’”

My new logo

The awesomely talented Chris Bishop has designed a logo for my Forbes blog, SIN INC. It's a redux of the logo he created for my Reverse Cowgirl blog years ago. It is awesome.

Check out Bishop's original cowgirl logo. His haunting Bad Memory painting hangs in my home office. He's famous for his unicorns humping shirt.

Repent, Sinners

Porn Awards, Las Vegas, Nevada

I renamed my Forbes blog.

Now it's SIN INC.

There I will be working the vice beat.

Booze, broads, bozos.

It's the most interesting thing I've done in at least decade.

The plight of the unreal writer

Pavilion, Chicago, Illinois
"Yet I don’t feel like a real writer. Both a screenplay based on a true story and a novel based on my own early life came grinding to a halt. Without being egotistical, I’ve been around long enough to know they are both excellent topics, great stories. But I just freeze up after three chapters or a couple of acts. I can’t seem to keep going. The bio-novel made me incredibly anxious, bringing up memories I don’t want to deal with but must to get them on the page. So I tried it as nonfiction, a pop-culture documentary, switching the focus somewhat and looking at events from a more journalistic angle. Nup." -- "Is Journalism Killing My Creativity?"

Bubble

I took a photo class on Saturday morning. I think I might have a vague understanding of how to work my camera now. Maybe.

Minific

Red Door, Chicago, Illinois

I submitted a piece of tiny fiction to Nanoism. It was rejected. Here it is:
The tumor was terrible. Pulled at its leash, would not heel. Its malignance was the least of it, she decided, dragging it down the street.

Porn star

Porn Star, Las Vegas, Nevada
The most important thing you can do is write awesome stuff, no matter where it is published. Seriously, when people tell me they want to write profiles for the New Yorker, I’m like, "THEN GO DO IT. Have you heard of Blogger.tumblr.com?" I mean, there is absolutely nothing stopping any of us from spending three months with a subject and writing the definitive 10k word piece proving why they are important and fascinating. Except Homeland, bourbon, and laziness. So, shit, write a profile about a lazy alcoholic who watches too much TV. BOOM. Problem solved. Office

Love this home office. Although, it's totally impractical. How in god's name could anyone spend a day perched on that stool?

Found here.
